DJI has launched its latest drone, the DJI Flip, a model designed specifically for vlogging and which, according to the brand, is the “first drone with foldable, full-coverage propeller guards for unprecedented flight safety.”
This new drone, the first in a series of all-in-one devices from DJI, is presented as the ultimate solution for content creators looking for a compact yet powerful device. Weighing less than 249 grams (8.7 oz), the DJI Flip is extremely portable, measuring just 136x62x165 mm when folded, making it small enough to fit in any backpack or even a pocket.
Although small, the DJI Flip doesn’t skimp on technical features. It’s equipped with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing 48-megapixel still images and recording 4K video in stunning quality. In burst mode, it can take up to 7 photos per second and offers JPG and DNG (RAW) format options for the most demanding of editing.
As for video, the DJI Flip allows you to record at 100 fps in 4K when shooting horizontally, but if you’re looking to capture vertical content (ideal for social media), the drone offers a maximum resolution of 2.7K at 30 fps. Plus, you can choose between recording in the standard MP4 format, where footage is automatically processed in-camera, or in the raw D-Log M format, which gives you full control over the image and is perfect for professionals who want to fine-tune every last detail in post-production.
The DJI Flip’s lens has an 82.1° field of view and an f/1.7 aperture, which combined with its maximum ISO of 6400 ensures outstanding performance even in low-light conditions. But it’s not just about image quality. DJI has integrated several intelligent tools such as AI subject tracking and automatic shooting modes, making it easy to create stunning content without any prior experience. Additionally, the DJI Flip is packed with advanced safety features such as foldable propeller guards and automatic braking.
