Making its debut at Milan Fashion Week and establishing itself as one of the favourites on the calendar.
Taking advantage of the great momentum achieved last June, when he presented his brand to the world in ‘Holy Motor’, Domenico Formichetti is once again consolidating his position on the international scene with a proposal that dialogues between the past and the future. PDF has decided to take the reins of a cultural legacy that redefined the closing of the 20th century and now adapts it to the demands of the new era.
To do so, the designer has immersed himself in the guts of raw, rebellious hip-hop, full of attitude. Because ‘United Jam’ is not just a tribute to a golden era; it’s a contemporary re-reading, a bridge between the urban mythology of late 90s/early 2000s music videos and streetwear resistance. Inspired by film classics such as Boyz n the Hood, Paid in Full and Menace II Society, the collection recreates an era when style was more than an aesthetic statement, but an act of rebellion.
Staying true to his aim of recontextualising these visual codes, Formichetti fuses extreme sports references with oversized structures, resulting in an appealing hybrid aesthetic. Exaggerated silhouettes and layering overlap and intermingle in different fabrics to offer a playful and futuristic approach.
And on the catwalk, a stellar cast: Moise Kean, Sita Abellán, Leïti Sene, Alvin Kamara and Taylil James unveiled some of the most spectacular designs of ‘United Jam’, turning each look into a story that speaks of community, personal ties and a shared passion for culture.
Not to mention the exclusive front row full of iconic personalities such as Tony Effe, Ghali, Dark Pyrex, Gilda Ambrosio, Giorgia Tordini, Chiara Biasi, Tedua, Clint or Bleumode, who did not hesitate to accompany Domenico in such a special moment in his career and give him all their support.
