The most epic merger of the year is here. Pokémon and McDonald’s have launched a collaboration that promises to thrill even the most passionate trainers. The iconic fast food chain has unveiled a special Happy Meal that offers a unique experience for fans of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG).
Each Happy Meal includes a booster pack with four of the 15 collectible cards exclusive to this edition, including legendary figures such as Charizard, Pikachu, Miraidon, Jigglypuff, Koraidon, Umbreon and many more. In addition, players will receive a Pokémon poster and a sticker sheet to personalise the poster with their favourite characters.
As a special bonus, those who order their Happy Meal via the McDonald’s app in the US will receive 24 Hourglasses and 12 Wonder Hourglasses to add to their Pokémon TCG games. It’s not just the cards that are back on the menu: the Happy Meal boxes come with an exclusive design featuring Charizard, Pikachu and Dragonite alongside Rayquaza or Roaring Moon.
Guillaume Huin, Senior Marketing Director at McDonald’s, commented: ‘It’s amazing to be able to bring these campaigns to our fans with partners who share our passion. Pokémon fans have a deep love and nostalgia for the brand, and we are excited to bring them a new dose of happiness and fun with this Pokémon Happy Meal.’
The Pokémon Happy Meal is now available in McDonald’s stores across the US.
