The Mexican-American designer has been chosen by the rap superstar for one of the most important moments of the year.
After having bet on Willy Chavarria‘s unique vision during his Big Steppers Tour, Kendrick Lamar joins him again to design a limited edition collection that intertwines with the cultural and social identity of both of them. All in an environment where fashion, music and activism go hand in hand.
Masterfully blending exclusivity with accessibility, the capsule works as a kind of homage to fan culture and, at the same time, as a reflection of the passions that define the two creatives, each in their own discipline. As the undisputed protagonist, we find an imposing satin jacket with a slightly cropped cut, balloon sleeves and a neat embroidery on the chest with the ‘KLamar’ insignia and the letters ‘g.NATIONAL’ on the back. This piece encapsulates the artist’s duality: his defiant attitude, his roots and his connection to popular culture.
To complete the launch, lightweight training hoodies and T-shirts, mesh and cotton shorts, and graphic hoodies have been designed to pay homage to the massive event with graphics designed by Felipe Mérida.
All proceeds from the sale of the pieces in the collection will go to help the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires, demonstrating that, in addition to an exchange of creativity, the aim is to generate a tangible impact on the affected communities.
