Levi’s®, in collaboration with global icon Beyoncé, today released Pool Hall, the second chapter of the REIIMAGINE campaign and a celebration of the enduring legacy of Levi’s® paired with Beyoncé’s transformative artistic vision. In the new fashion film, as in the accompanying images, clad in a powerful denim-on-denim look, Beyoncé once again demonstrates her timeless versatility.

Building on the success of the first chapter of this collaboration – Launderette, which inspired audiences by reimagining a classic 1985 ad – Pool Hall reinterprets the iconic ad of the same name that Levi’s® debuted in 1991. For this latest chapter of the REIIMAGINE campaign, Levi’s® teamed up with GRAMMY award-winning director Melina Matsoukas to evolve this piece of the brand’s history while showcasing the versatility of its garments.
Pool Hall portrays Beyoncé defying expectations as she takes on a local expert, played by Timothy Olyphant, in a high-stakes game of pool. Celebrating Levi’s® products as modern style staples that continue to evolve, the new chapter invites bold interpretations. The complementary Chapter 2 images feature bold garments, such as the Ribcage Wide Leg jeans, Braided waistcoat and Spade trench coat, with custom embellishments that reflect the spirit of individuality and reinvention central to the campaign.
‘There is no other piece of clothing that evokes comfort, modern elegance, classic American attire and nostalgia like denim does,’ said Beyoncé. ‘And when I think of all of those things, I think of Levi’s. For the second chapter of our collaboration we had even more fun reimagining the narrative of denim on denim, through the lens of one woman, who can be sexy, bold and a fierce competitor all at the same time. We wanted to celebrate the duality of grace and power’.
The campaign continues Levi’s® tradition of working with the most celebrated creative talents of our time. Matsoukas collaborated with Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Marcell Rév and acclaimed photographer Mason Poole to capture the visual essence of Pool Hall, building on the legacy of iconic Levi’s® campaigns and photography.
