The SAG Awards 2025, held on Sunday night in Los Angeles, capped off a star-studded and exciting awards season. But the eyes of the world are already on the much-anticipated Oscars, which will take place on 2 March. Ahead of the ceremony, broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and hosted by No One Wants This star Kristen Bell, Wicked and Shogun were the favourites, leading their respective fields with five nominations each.
The SAGs proved once again why they are one of the most elegant ceremonies on the calendar. This year’s red carpet was marked by risky and theatrical looks, which did not go unnoticed. One of the biggest surprises of the night was Danielle Deadwyler, who caught all eyes in her stunning red dress from the Louis Vuitton collection. In the same vein, singer and actress Cynthia Erivo dazzled in a silver Givenchy gown from the Fall 1997 collection designed by Alexander McQueen. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande, Erivo’s co-star in Wicked, opted for a custom Loewe floral dress in Glinda pink.
But it wasn’t all about glitzy ball gowns; the SAG Awards were also about sustainable fashion. Lily Gladstone, who had already worn a stunning design to last year’s Oscars after-party, repeated in a custom Gucci gown, a one-of-a-kind piece with intricate quilting created by indigenous artist Joe Big Mountain. This gesture was not only a tribute to fashion, but also to indigenous culture and tradition.
Men’s fashion at the SAG Awards 2025 also offered memorable moments. Colman Domingo stood out in a cream Valentino blazer, a look that exuded sophistication and elegance. Meanwhile, Timothée Chalamet, who always dares to break the mould, opted for a western-inspired leather suit by Chrome Hearts. His choice of a neon green shirt and bolo tie gave him a unique touch, establishing himself as one of the most daring of the night.
One detail that didn’t go unnoticed was the brooch Bridgerton star Luke Newton chose to complement his outfit. With one male and one female symbol, the brooch was a powerful statement of support for the transgender community. A subtle but meaningful gesture, it made Newton shine both for his style and his message of solidarity.
