While we were still savouring the teaser of the upcoming collaboration between Doraemon and Converse Japan, Doublet has decided to get ahead of the game with a proposal as surreal as it is cool.Doublet reinterprets the Converse Jack Purcell and All Star Hi in a single design.
The Japanese brand, true to its deconstructed and humorous DNA, fuses two classic Converse silhouettes – the Jack Purcell and the All Star Hi – into an unexpected hybrid that defies any straight line. The key? A stacked sole that mixes the innards of the Jack Purcell with the iconic body of the All Star, resulting in a platform that looks like something out of a futuristic manga.
But the real visual trip is in the upper: ivory canvas in controlled asymmetry. Right foot with Jack Purcell Hi vibes, left foot with All Star Hi essence. As if you were wearing two different trainers… but made to go together. The insignia of both houses coexist in chaotic harmony on the inner collars. Pure Doublet.
The main branding is reserved for textiles, where Doublet deploys its unfiltered irony: oversized sweatshirts in black and off-white with lace-ups ending in socked legs… and mini Doublet x Converse trainers hanging like amulets. The T-shirts follow the same game, finished off with mini dangling accessories that look like something out of a distorted toy shop.
The drop kicks off on April 26th at Doublet and select retailers, and officially lands at Converse Japan on April 28th.
