Miu Miu wants us out. Literally. With its new L’Été capsule, the Italian house throws us onto the grass, inviting us to experience an ethereal, sensual, and somewhat nostalgic summer. No urban retreats: this collection wants you to feel the direct sun, the salt on your skin, and the soft drama of a getaway that seems to go on forever.
Rewriting the vacation wardrobe from an almost childlike perspective, L’Été fuses codes of the past with a contemporary outlook. Poplin, piqué, and raw cotton are deployed in pieces that evoke elevated school uniforms: tennis skirts, polo shirts, knit bustiers, and aviator jackets. All in a palette of washed pinks, cherry reds, and that periwinkle blue that screams: French holidays with an analog filter.
The styling is completed with the classics that only Miu Miu can take from kitsch to fetish: XL belts, fingerless gloves, knee-high socks, and Mary-Janes that shine like they came from a 2000s Japanese karaoke bar. The Wander, Beau, and Aventure bags appear as strategic nods to logomania.
Lingerie in collaboration mode? Yes. Miu Miu is once again joining forces with Petit Bateau, and the result is a micro-collection that reinterprets the most basic underwear as statement pieces: boxers, ribbed T-shirts, and bateau necklines, as if we’d just escaped from a stylish boarding school.
The visual campaign, shot by photographer Siân Davey, elevates this summer fantasy with the faces of Callina Lang and Diana Silvers, who embody an escapist and soft youth, somewhere between the real and the cinematic.
