Reinventing the Puerto Rican bomba in the middle of his world tour.
In full creative boiling point and after making history at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Rauw Alejandro surprises once again with the official release of the unplugged version of ‘Carita Linda’, a song that has been setting the pace since its premiere as the first preview of his upcoming album ‘Cosa Nuestra 2’.
This new interpretation moves away from the digital beat to embrace tradition. Recorded at the mythical La Factoría de San Juan in Puerto Rico, the video turns the space into a sonic and visual ritual where bomba drums come to life to the rhythm of Bomvibes, led by Jomar Abrante. The presence of traditional dancers reinforces the artist’s connection to his roots and also recontextualises bomba as a contemporary language.
The release comes at a pivotal moment for Rauw, as he has just become the first Latin artist to sell out three consecutive nights at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, one of the world’s most iconic venues.
