Kim Kardashian testifies in Paris

On the robbery he suffered in October 2016.

Nearly a decade after the luxury world’s most mediatic robbery, Kim Kardashian returns to the site of the trauma to come face to face with those who once gagged her at gunpoint. Because, while the cameras focused on the front rows and the spotlights illuminated the catwalks during Fashion Week, the darker side manifested itself in the private suite where the celebrity was staying.

Yesterday, she was seen arriving at the Palais de Justice in Paris to testify about a night that, in her own words, she believed would be ‘the last of her life’.

‘They threw me on the bed and the youngest of them started tying my hands. At that moment I went crazy,’ she recalls and says that, at the same time, she was tormented by the thought that her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, would find her dead in the room when she arrived.

Although Aomar Air Khedache, one of the defendants, attempted to apologise in a letter read out in court by the judge, Kim was adamant: ‘This does not change the trauma or the fact that my life will never be the same again.’

This case has brought back to the table the debate about the price of fame, luxury as a goal and the unknown trauma that haunts celebrities when no one sees them.
