The short film ‘Grande Envie’ oscillates between vintage glamour and sustainability, while encapsulating the spirit of the new Upcycled collection.
Winner of four Oscars and responsible for the wardrobe of such cinematic gems as ‘The Great Gatsby’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’, Catherine Martin joins Miu Miu‘s latest project to offer a project that breathes cinema, history and luxury.
Set in the aesthetic frontier of the twenties and thirties – that space of shock, evolution and freedom after the First World War – ‘Grande Envie’ is a celebration of contrasts. In it, Martin constructs a ghostly love triangle story where the past, desire and beauty intertwine in a unique narrative starring Callina Liana, Daisy Ridley, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Diana Silvers, Elliot Sumner and the great Willem Dafoe.
But although the plot is particularly strong, what is really important in this proposal is the Upcycled collection. Launched for the first time in 2020, this collection brings back vintage pieces and transforms them under the eccentric and delicate prism of Miuccia Prada. The new release, which masterfully blends delicate fabrics with the most detailed techniques, will be available from 7 June in selected Miu Miu boutiques.
