Estación Podcast 2025 kicks off with a full house and HIGHXTAR in the lineup

Estación Podcast, the Ibero-American sound creation festival, has inaugurated its fourth edition with a kickoff that confirms its maturity as a key event in the cultural ecosystem. The venue chosen to open the event was no coincidence: the Pacífico Engine Shed, a jewel of 20th-century industrial architecture and an emblem of the Madrid Metro, served as the setting for an opening day packed with content, connections, and statements that mark the pulse of today’s audio.

With a full house from the early hours of the morning, the atmosphere was one of a scene that no longer needs justification. What was once considered an alternative medium now has its own identity, language, and audience. The podcast is no longer a promise, but a fertile ground where narratives, communities, and discourses that find no space in traditional formats converge.

The opening day brought together key voices from the circuit. Carlos Galán, director of Estación Podcast, was in charge of welcoming everyone, accompanied by figures such as Clara Tiscar, creator of the successful Criminopatía; Julieta de Haro, artistic director of CentroCentro; Laura Castilla, Director General of Youth for the Community of Madrid; Mónica Redondo, Deputy Assistant Director of Cultural Promotion for the AECID; and Nacho Gallego, Director of Content for the festival.

HIGHXTAR takes Podcast Station 2025

During their presentations, the potential of the podcast was highlighted not only as a means of communication, but also as a creative, accessible, and human tool. But the programming doesn’t stop there. HIGHXTAR enters the scene with a proposal that reflects our editorial vision and our connection to contemporary culture. Today, at 7:00 PM, we present HighTalks, our very own podcast that focuses on the music industry from a raw, real, and uncompromising perspective.

Moderated by César Castro, director of HIGHXTAR, the panel brings together four essential voices from the current scene: Juancho Marqués, one of the most consistent and solid figures in Spanish-language rap; Teo Lucadamo, a producer and artist who redefines the codes of the underground; Bea Pelea, a figurehead of the most honest and emotional reggaeton; and Castro himself, who will guide the conversation through the challenges, frictions, and transformations facing the music industry today.

HighTalks is not just a talk. It’s a necessity. At a time when the industry is facing a tipping point between creative independence and the pressure of virality, we want to open a space for dialogue from within. To talk about what isn’t said. To expose what’s often glossed over. And to connect with those who are making it all count: the artists, the producers, the labels, but also the audiences who listen, support, and build through active listening.

Until Saturday, May 24, Madrid becomes the capital of the Spanish-language sound universe. And we’re here to tell the tale, but also to provoke it.
