The trial began on 13 May at the Palais de Justice in Paris.

The judicial response has been long, but significant. Eight of the ten accused in the assault on Kim Kardashian in October 2016 have been sentenced to sentences ranging from three to eight years, although most will not return to prison, as the sentences have been suspended or offset by time already served on remand. The other two suspects have been acquitted.

Michael Rhodes, Léonor Hennerick and Jonathan Mattou, the celebrity’s lawyers, issued a statement saying that Kim ‘appreciates the Court’s decision and thanks once again the French authorities for treating her with great respect throughout the process’.

‘It has been a long journey from that terrible night back in 2016 until she bravely stood up in a historic courtroom in Paris to confront these criminals,’ they added. ‘She looks forward to putting this tragic episode behind her as she continues to work to improve the criminal justice system on behalf of victims, the innocent and the incarcerated who seek to redeem themselves.’

And speaking of courts… Tyshawn Jones sues Supreme.
