Nostalgia, technique and national pride merge in a historic reissue that redefines sporting luxury.
adidas once again looks to its golden archive, and this time it does so with the help of a living football legend: Zinedine Zidane. Under the umbrella of his celebrated ‘Made in Germany’ series, he revives one of his most iconic milestones with the Predator Precision Zinedine Zidane 2000.
The launch is no coincidence. In the countdown to the World Cup, the brand with the three stripes is bringing back a silhouette that was, at the time, synonymous with dominance, elegance and precision on the pitch. We go back to the year 2000, when Zizou was crowned FIFA World Player of the Year and received an exclusive pair of Predator Precision in recognition of his absolute reign in the sport.
For this limited reissue – which will be released on 10 June – adidas has decided to remain faithful to the original design, but with a contemporary execution. The upper is reinterpreted with the utmost precision, bringing back the legendary red, gold and black colourway, now accented with contemporary details that elevate the aesthetic.
The sole incorporates modern technology, while elements such as the tonal ‘Made in Germany’ embroidery on the tongue or the golden trefoil emblem act as nods to an unrepeatable era. The insoles, decorated with celebratory motifs reminiscent of the pitch, serve as a visual homage to Zidane‘s legacy.
