After setting the scene on fire with his capsule alongside KSUBI, Mowalola Ogunlesi returns with a collaboration that fuses contemporary art, street culture and brutal energy: five new skate decks with THE SKATEROOM.
The British designer teams up with the Belgian brand to launch a line of decks not only made for riding, but also for inhabiting walls and provoking glances. Each deck vibrates with Mowalola’s visual codes: color, raw sensuality, and symbols that transition between desire and chaos.
Photographed on a gritty New York corner, Mowalola poses leaning on a payphone, armed with a board and wrapped in a vintage Yankees bomber jacket. The mood: post-apocalyptic chic.
“Each one is a piece of her language, reframed for the street, the gallery, or wherever you claim space,” reads the site’s manifesto. The decks—Moto, JC, Red, M, Cheetah—bear Mowalola’s inverted “M” logo or their own figure as a symbol. The most intense: Cheetah, pure animal desire in a graphic key. The most metaphysical: Red, a corporeal ode in the form of a curve.
