V&A announces major Schiaparelli exhibition for 2026

The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) has announced a new exhibition dedicated to Schiaparelli. Entitled ‘Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art’, the exhibition will open to the public in March 2026. It will be the museum’s first exhibition focusing on the French fashion house.

According to the official press release, the exhibition will bring together more than 200 pieces from Schiaparelli’s archive. These will include garments, accessories, jewellery, perfumes, paintings, photographs, sculptures, furniture and archival documentation.

The tour will cover different periods, formats and collaborations, with a special focus on Elsa Schiaparelli’s relationship with artists such as Salvador Dalí. Recent designs created by Daniel Roseberry will also be present. The current creative director reinterprets the house’s original approach through sculptural silhouettes and references to surrealism.

Delphine Bellini, CEO of Schiaparelli, said the exhibition at the V&A celebrates Elsa’s legacy and her impact on 20th century fashion. As well as her influence on contemporary creation.
