ASICS updates its sportstyle offering with Kiko Kostadinov’s studio with three new colour combinations of the GEL-Kinetic Fluent US6-S. The model, due for release on 25 July, maintains its technical approach with archival references and a construction that features flowing lines and overlapping panels.
Each new colour combination, Black/Vanilla, Cayenne/Copperhead and Glacier Grey/Soft Sky, offers a different interpretation, but all maintain the functional and refined tone that characterizes this line.
Inspired by the concept of ‘Insulated Grottos’, the design incorporates a two-tone mesh base, curved leather panels, welded eyelets and a continuous line pattern that references the work of artist Edith Dekyndt. The off-centre pull tab on the tongue, already common in this collaboration, reappears as a distinctive element.
In this version, the toe box leaves the usual mesh behind for an all-leather construction that extends all the way to the heel. The ASICS branding is reduced to a discreet TPU panel, placed over the mesh and treated with a subtle gradient that adds visual volume.
On a technical level, the model incorporates Scutoid GEL technology for added cushioning and support. FF Blast Plus Eco foam improves energy return with a lighter underfoot feel. While the TRUSSTIC system adds stability.
In terms of materials, over 20% of the synthetic leather used in the upper comes from recycled materials.
