Warburton SS25: roots and new aesthetic codes

In Murcia, the word Southside is not just a cardinal point: it is a statement of identity for the Warburton brothers. When Daniel and David debuted this concept years ago, they did so as if stepping onto barren land and saying, “This is who we are.” Today, the saga continues with Southside SS25, a capsule collection that celebrates their roots but also opens up new aesthetic paths for the brothers’ brand.

When I interviewed David and Daniel Megías Warburton for Highxtar, they said something that stuck with me: “We are British and we are Spanish, and our clothing reflects that in a completely organic way.” At the time, we were talking about how Southside was not just a collection, but a manifesto: a bridge between Murcia and Scotland, between what they have inherited directly at home and what they have drawn from their sources of inspiration over the years: friends, artists, athletes… Today, two years later, that mix remains intact, but refined by experience and increasingly notable international recognition.

Southside SS25 is therefore another chapter in that story, where the archive is expanded with new printing techniques, handcrafted denim, and a warmer palette. Beige, pink, and denim dress the Warburton summer with an air of nostalgia and novelty in tandem.

During a visit to their pop-up store in Paris, where they were presenting the FW23 collection, I saw how the community that revolves around Warburton responded as if it were a family event. That closeness is evident again in pieces such as the “MURCIA” caps, now in faded beige and washed pink, or the new Klein blue trucker cap. Among the T-shirts, the reinterpretation of the England crest stands out, as does the Gothic logo taken from a Scottish newspaper and faded designs that seem to carry the wear and tear of a thousand stories. The British heritage continues to seep into every garment: not only in the symbols, but also in that “darkness and coldness” that was described to me as a reflection of Edinburgh.

Denim, which barely made a timid appearance in their first drops, now takes center stage: shorts with rips and reflective strips, a bucket hat, and a tote bag with worn finishes, all produced in Spain under the same sustainable commitment that they emphasized to me the first time we spoke. A commitment they have learned to maintain, as they confessed to me then, “through trial and error” and by building a solid foundation after years of work in every possible position within the brand.

The campaign by Toni Hernández moves the collection to a rural estate in Murcia, with Fernando Bravo and Yasmin Spilt among scenes of local customs that seem to freeze time.

Southside SS25 is now available on Warburton website and in stores such as Select Store (Alicante and Valencia), Urban Crave (Murcia), and Boms Place (Canary Islands).
