Kith writes a new chapter with INSTITUTION

Six years after his last presentation, Ronnie Fieg decided to take one of New York’s busiest thoroughfares—Lafayette Street, right in front of the newly renovated flagship store—and turn it into the stage for INSTITUTION, a runway show that showcased more than just the evolution of a brand.

Over the past decade, Kith has been a mirror of global urban culture. Its logo, ubiquitous in collaborations and drops, became a recognized symbol of Brooklyn to the rest of the world. But in INSTITUTION, the logo took a back seat to the cuts, fabrics, and breadth of the product.

The Fall/Winter 2025 collection balanced streetwear heritage with unexpected refinement. Tailoring developed with Giorgio Armani, the reappearance of &Kin as a line of elevated classics, jackets with sports references to the Knicks or the Yankees, and technical pieces from K-Tech that expand its textile universe. All underpinned by a coherent narrative: maturity without renouncing its roots.

The show could not have taken place anywhere else. The choice of Lafayette Street was not merely an aesthetic gesture, but a reminder of where Kith was born and how New York remains the driving force that defines its DNA. As one of the sweaters featured in the show proclaimed: “New York to the world.”

Beyond the clothing, the city permeated the atmosphere of the show: from the energy of an audience that mixed insiders and the brand’s community, to the surprise appearance of Gashi, a regular collaborator and voice of downtown. Even Fieg himself admitted that it was a monumental risk—permission to close the street came just four days before—but also an act of faith in the irreplaceable magic of New York.

The name of the show, INSTITUTION, also has its raison d’être. Kith started as a cult project for sneakerheads and has ended up becoming a cultural reference point that transcends fashion. The show consolidated that narrative: an ecosystem that brings together fashion, sport, luxury, music, and community in a single proposal.

By presenting its most ambitious offering to date—the most extensive accessories collection, collaborations with Birkenstock, Clarks Originals, and adidas, and even the return of &Kin—Kith showed that its place is no longer solely in streetwear, but in building its own universe with a vocation to endure.
