Julia Fox, actress in Him, spoke to Allure about her cosmetic procedures, including liposuction, rhinoplasty, and dental veneers, and the connection they had with the male gaze. “I was so obsessed with the idea that I needed to be attractive to men in order to survive,” she confessed.
The actress added: “Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never had anything done… I wish I could go back to being that person.” Although she said she will probably undergo surgery again, it is not a priority at the moment. For Fox, the main fear is “feeling old” rather than physical ageing: “When you’re young and attractive, that’s your identity. Then you realise you need to stay young and attractive.”
In another interview with People, Julia Fox praised the new generation of women who speak openly about cosmetic surgery: “If you’re not honest, you’re setting an unrealistic standard. That may be inspiring for you, but what about impressionable girls who feel: ‘Why don’t I look like that? What’s wrong with me?’”
Fox shares a son, Valentino, with Peter Artemiev, and has had notable public relationships, including a brief romance with the artist formerly known as Kanye West.
