The Spring/Summer 2026 collection was presented this morning at The Palace, as part of the official MBFW calendar.
After several seasons conquering New York, Alejandro Gómez Palomo returns home with a very intimate but meaningful fashion show. With a front row worthy of the occasion—Sita Abellán, Hiba Abouk, Lola Rodríguez, Carla Díaz, and Mirela Balic—the majestic space welcomed the “Eighteen” collection: a story about that universal transition between childhood and adulthood. An exploration of the moment when everything seems the same on the surface, but inside something is changing.
The name has a double meaning: coming of age—that moment fraught with desire—and, at the same time, a key number in Palomo‘s history, as it corresponds to his eighteenth collection. This turning point also coincides with another crucial moment: the move from his workshop in his hometown to Madrid, where the designer leaves his family refuge to embrace a new adventure full of creative maturity.
The visual imagery is inspired by the universe of Sofia Coppola, from The Virgin Suicides to Marie Antoinette, with dusty atmospheres, soft colours and a feeling of encapsulated nostalgia that coexists with underlying rebellion. This clash gives rise to unexpected cuts, volumes that hint at desire and details that anticipate escape.
True to his language, Alejandro explores the tension between the hard and the delicate, the opaque and the transparent. Knitwear and leather become the starting point for unusual silhouettes, obsessively meticulous finishes and collaborations that elevate the collection: Swarovski, with crystallised flowers in shades of green, pink and blue; Vivas Carrión, responsible for the hats; and Charles & Keith and Pedro Shoes for the footwear.
“It has a lot to do with leaving the town where we have always been and where we set up Palomo – leaving the workshop, leaving your home. Even starting to distance yourself from that family unit you have been attached to all your life. We see this reflected in the characters in the collection, but in reality it also says a lot about us, the Palomo team.” – Alejandro Gómez Palomo
