Voltarei by Hard GZ connects the club’s present with one of Galicia’s most recognisable stories, emigration. Hard GZ uses that metaphor to speak about sacrifice, return, and collective pride. The song not only highlights Celta’s comeback to Europe, but also the promise of return that always accompanied those who had to leave Galicia.
The track alternates between Galician and Spanish and relies on very specific imagery. It includes sailors, peasants, families looking out to sea, and the protection of the “Virgen del Carmen“. All of this blends with a powerful chorus — “Voltarei, voltarei” — which encapsulates the idea of return.
The release arrives at a historic moment for the Vigo-based club. Celta have qualified for the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League, nine years after their last appearance. It will be the tenth time the team compete in Europe, with the memory of the 2017 semi-finals still very much alive.
For Hard GZ, born in Vigo in 1995 and raised in A Coruña, this project brings together two of his clearest identities: combative rap and Galician roots. The artist, who sold out the Movistar Arena this year, has built his career on lyrics full of social criticism and commitment, and now joins the list of musicians who have shaped the soundtrack of Celta fandom.
After Oliveira Dos Cen Anos by C. Tangana for the club’s centenary, Voltarei looks set to become the new anthem of the sky-blue supporters as they return to Europe. Voltarei by Hard GZ is now available.
