During the upcoming Paris Fashion Week, Nike and the Virgil Abloh Archive will present “Virgil Abloh: The Codes”. An exhibition that celebrates the life and creative legacy of the designer, who passed away in 2021.
The project brings together almost 20,000 archive pieces spanning two decades of work. Among them are advertising campaigns, fashion collections, architecture, footwear, music and unfinished projects. The event will take place at the Grand Palais in Paris, from 30 September — a date that coincides with Abloh’s birthday — to 9 October.
The exhibition is presented as a continuation of “Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture” (2022). On that occasion, unreleased sneaker prototypes created with Nike were displayed, along with never-before-seen versions of the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1.
The space, together with Nike, will also feature a parallel programme to “Virgil Abloh: The Codes”. Workshops, talks, performances, DJ sessions and screenings will be announced throughout the week.
