A smart move from Glenn Martens. Diesel isn’t taking its foot off the gas and its latest signing is Thug Club, the Seoul-based streetwear label on everyone’s lips. The first collaboration between the two is out now and it’s exactly what you’d expect.
To get you up to speed, Thug Club is no ordinary brand. Jiyool Kwon’s project is a phenomenon born in 2018 that draws direct inspiration from the hip-hop and biker culture of Itaewon. Its “TC” logo has already been worn by A$AP Rocky, CL and Jay Park.
The 8-piece capsule gets straight to the point. You have hoodies and T-shirts that pair washed-out denim with mesh inserts and zips, a textbook trucker jacket, and two styles of jeans with asymmetrical seams and camouflage patches. The branding, of course, is oversized. It includes Diesel and “TC” logos everywhere.
At the core of it all is the new hybrid logo, a fusion of both identities that makes things clear. The Diesel x Thug Club collection is now available online via both brands’ websites and at select physical stores in Asia.
