Duran Lantink makes his debut at Jean Paul Gaultier with the collection “Junior” — a reinterpretation of the maison’s bold 1980s legacy.

Duran Lantink opens a new chapter for Jean Paul Gaultier with “Junior,” his debut collection for Spring/Summer 2026. The designer captures the essence of a youthful and experimental Gaultier — one who saw fashion as a space for freedom and provocation.

Through his signature process of “Duranification,” Lantink transforms the house’s iconic codes into a study of visual and conceptual experimentation. The classic Marinière becomes an optical illusion, while the tattoo-on-mesh motif expands into three-dimensional forms that explore the limits of body and movement. Proportions shift, volumes blur, and identity multiplies.

The collection finds its rhythm in the spirit of Amsterdam’s RoXY club — a symbol of hedonism and creative anarchy, where fashion and nightlife merged into a single language of expression. The voice of poet John Giorno accompanies the show with a hypnotic cadence, deepening its introspective tone.

Presented in the basement of the Musée du Quai Branly, Jean Paul Gaultier SS26 creates a dialogue between archive and contemporaneity. Lantink doesn’t replicate Gaultier’s legacy; he reactivates it with a fresh and daring perspective that preserves its subversive energy. This debut marks the beginning of a new narrative for the maison — one where risk and freedom remain its truest form of expression.
