The collection continues to write the Maison‘s winter story.
Sean Thomas has been tasked with capturing the purity of the frozen landscape and the sophistication of Chanel, bringing to life a story where the cold, rather than being fought against, is embraced with style. A Japanese muse of serene beauty and natural magnetism, Komatsu embodies the spirit of COCO NEIGE, which since its launch back in 2018 has focused all its efforts on achieving the perfect fusion between technical performance and Chanel‘s savoir-faire.
‘I want to combine looks with surprising pieces and have fun with styling,’ explains the Japanese actress, confirming the particularly adaptable nature of the collection.
This winter, the colour palette shifts between frosty pink, pine green and deep navy blue, with luminous touches of ecru and iridescent blacks. The silhouettes, architectural yet soft, reinterpret alpine wear following the Maison’s unmistakable guidelines.
Highlights include a pink quilted taffeta jacket paired with a sheepskin hat; a multicoloured cardigan worn over technical trousers; a green and purple tweed suit; and an ecru cashmere jumper embellished with black bows. The COCO NEIGE collection celebrates the duality between the graphic and the ethereal, with contrasts created by black and white and bold details.
‘I believe that the coexistence of elegance and comfort accurately reflects the spirit of CHANEL. Just as Gabrielle Chanel showed how to live freely without being bound by convention, I believe that this collection expresses inner strength balanced with comfort and beauty. The freedom that Gabrielle Chanel sought is still very much alive today,’ concludes Nana Komatsu.
