The independent studio A24 steps off the screen with the opening of Wild Cherry, its first restaurant, located within the historic Cherry Lane Theatre in New York’s West Village. The project brings together gastronomy, design and visual storytelling in a single setting.
Since A24 acquired the iconic Off-Broadway theatre in 2023, its expansion beyond cinema seemed inevitable. Wild Cherry brings that vision to life: an intimate and elegant supper club where flavour, music and atmosphere merge like a film yet to be released.
A kitchen with its own script
The culinary direction is led by Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr, the chefs behind Frenchette, Le Rock and Le Veau d’Or. Their menu strikes a balance between the raw and the comforting, offering a dining experience that flows naturally from start to finish.
Starters include oysters, tuna crudo and dressed crab, followed by dishes such as the lobster club, roasted monkfish kebab and a perfectly executed cheeseburger. For sharing, the steak for two arrives with baked potato, green salad and a sweet touch of soft-serve to close the meal on a playful, nostalgic note.
Meanwhile, the drinks list continues the story. With classic cocktails, natural wines and the standout Scorpion Bowl served in vintage Murano glass, the sense of theatre lasts until the very last sip.

Design with a cinematic touch
The interior, designed by Zeb Stewart, translates A24’s signature aesthetic—restrained, melancholic and cinematic—into a spatial language.
The 45-seat dining room features deep green banquettes, limewashed walls and a slatted ceiling that softens the light and creates an intimate mood. Meanwhile, chequerboard floors and fairground-style bulbs recall classic New York diners without resorting to nostalgia. At its centre, a horseshoe-shaped bar for twelve becomes the social heart of the space.

With Wild Cherry, A24 rewrites its own narrative. The studio that redefined independent cinema now offers a new way to see and savour culture — a place where film can be felt, drunk and dined.
