Desigual is knocking on the door of collaborations once again, this time with EGONLAB. The result is a collection that retains Desigual’s DNA, but takes it to a more precise, sober and minimalist level.
The idea behind the proposal is simple: a duality between chaos and calm that appears in long silhouettes, flowing garments, enveloping volumes and a feeling of freedom that is perceived when wearing them. It is Desigual, but without many frills or colour combinations.
EGONLAB does not disguise the brand. Premium materials—such as certified leather and cashmere knitwear—create pieces with drape, texture and durability. The collection feels more mature, with careful design and finishes that do not seek to attract attention, but rather to live up to the quality standards of the brands at the forefront of the collection, which, aromatically, moves between extremes: blacks and greys versus reds and pinks, and an exclusive feather print that adds lightness without being too literal.
The key pieces in the collection are the trench coat, with architectural details of the letter ‘D’; the structured wool coat, with a D-shaped metal belt that accentuates the waist and character; and the handmade denim with manual wear and nuances that make each piece unique.
But beyond the collection itself, why is this collaboration important? Desigual is at a point of renewal: it wants to speak to a new generation without giving up its identity. EGONLAB brings direction, criteria and a contemporary interpretation of the archive. They are not looking for fast trends: they are looking for design with intention. And that makes the Desigual archive, and for us in our psyche, look more sophisticated, polished and thoughtful. So Desigual x EGONLAB is not just a simple brand image exercise. I would say it is an ambitious but feasible statement of where the Barcelona brand wants to go: more design, more precision.
The collection is now available in stores and at desigual.com.
