Netflix has confirmed the release date for Sean Combs: The Reckoning, the new documentary produced by 50 Cent about the life and controversies of Sean “Diddy” Combs. The four-part series, directed by Alexandria Stapleton, will arrive on the platform on 2 December.
This project examines the artist’s rise, his impact on music, and the most contentious moments of his career. The platform presents him as a key figure in pop culture with a legacy marked by both acclaim and controversy. There is still no list of interviewees or a full trailer, which heightens anticipation.
Stapleton used Cassie Ventura’s case and the cultural climate shaped by the #MeToo movement as a starting point. The director aims to show how the public reacts when a celebrity faces serious accusations, and how fame can influence those perceptions. Her goal is for the documentary to serve as a reflection of the culture and of the way society treats those in the spotlight.
With this project, 50 Cent strengthens his commitment to documentary work through G-Unit Film and Television. He highlights the contribution of everyone involved and seeks to tell the story with a broad and clear perspective.
Sean Combs is serving a four-year sentence for two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution involving Cassie Ventura, another ex-partner, and several male sex workers. He was not found guilty of racketeering conspiracy or sex trafficking charges.
Netflix has already released an announcement video. The full trailer is expected soon, and everything suggests this will be one of the most talked-about releases of the season.
