The national scene adds an interesting new chapter today. BLAYA, one of the most unique voices on the scene, presents ‘phill collinX’, a single produced entirely by her, which arrives as a carefully measured and studied exercise. With direct references to Phil Collins—and an obvious nod to “Easy Lover”—she manages to blend the contemporary textures that underpin her unmistakable style with an eighties aesthetic.

The result is an addictive hybrid that moves between pop delicacy and a rhythmic drive that never loses its magnetism. It was recorded in Berbes, Asturias, inside a century-old house—with more than 120 years of history seeping into its walls—whose northern surroundings organically filtered into the song’s imagery. The mixture of melancholy and freshness that envelops “phill collinX” stems precisely from the green, humid and silent landscape that surrounded BLAYA during the creative process.
