adidas presents the Historical FIFA World Cup Ball Collection, a premium line created for collectors that pays tribute to more than fifty years of collaboration between the brand and the FIFA World Cup™. The launch brings together high-quality reproductions of the 15 official match balls designed by adidas from 1970 to today, consolidating itself as a must-have piece for any football enthusiast and anyone interested in the sport’s visual culture.
The set includes everything from the legendary Telstar from the 1970 World Cup in Mexico to the new Trionda, the official match ball for 2026. Each collection comes in a special box showcasing the aesthetic and technological evolution of adidas balls over the decades, highlighting the brand’s influence on the identity of the world’s biggest football stage.
The world’s most iconic match ball
Since 1970, adidas has developed a unique design for every edition of the tournament. After the Telstar and Telstar Durlast came the revolutionary Tango balls of 1978 and 1982; the Azteca of 1986, which marked a new era; and the models that defined the 1990s, such as the Etrusco Unico (1990), Questra (1994) and Tricolore (1998).
The turn of the millennium brought major innovations. The Fevernova in 2002 and the Teamgeist in 2006, whose construction broke away from traditional panel shapes. This was followed by the memorable Jabulani (2010) and the high-performance Brazuca (2014). In recent years, adidas revisited its archive with the Telstar 18 (2018), Al Rihla (2022) and its final-stage variant, Al Hilm (2022). The evolution continues with Trionda, officially unveiled in October as the 2026 World Cup match ball.

Three sets for different audiences
Today’s launch introduces the Historical Mini Ball Set, featuring the 15 official balls in a reduced format. Each mini ball is laminated and includes a foam core, faithfully replicating the aesthetic and character of the originals. It is available now for €250 in selected stores and at adidas.es.
In early 2026, the brand will release the Historical Pro Set (Size 5), a limited edition of fewer than 3,000 units. Manufactured with the same technology used for the original balls, these replicas are nearly identical, aimed at collectors seeking the most authentic experience. The price will be €2,500.
Alongside this, adidas will also launch the Historical Club Set (Size 5), available globally — except in Europe — for €400. With a flat TPU surface and machine-stitched construction, it offers a more commercial version of past and present official designs, while maintaining the visual heritage of the originals.
Finally, in March 2026, adidas will introduce two regionally limited sets, each restricted to 2,026 units, further expanding the celebration of its World Cup legacy.
