Carhartt WIP and Salomon resume their collaboration for the first time since 2022 with a new proposal focused on functionality and durability. This time, both brands rework the X-ALP model, one of the most recognisable silhouettes in Salomon’s archive. The result is a design created to move effortlessly between the mountains and the city.
Their first joint project was a hiking boot aimed at a clearly outdoor-oriented audience, featuring a restrained colour palette of navy and black, complemented by sage green and yellow details. This second release opts for a more refined and versatile aesthetic. The new Salomon x Carhartt WIP X-ALP is crafted in black grain leather, reinforcing its technical and urban character. Matching suede panels soften the silhouette and elevate the overall look, adding a more refined texture.
The Carhartt WIP identity appears subtly yet recognisably on the tongue and heel, both finished with the brand’s signature camouflage. As a final visual touch, the speckled midsole brings cohesion to the design.
To support the launch, the brands have collaborated with filmmaker Bailey Marklew. The campaign is set in a remote location linked to Salomon’s classic visual universe, but reinterpreted through a futuristic, sci-fi-inspired narrative.
The Salomon x Carhartt WIP X-ALP will be available from 18 December, both in-store and online, via the official Salomon and Carhartt WIP platforms.
