Walking makes sense again. Not just as a functional act, but as an experience. KOOPS, the Spanish barefoot footwear brand, presents ZEN, its latest collection and the project that marks a step forward within the adult sneaker universe.
With just one year of life, the brand opens a new chapter where wellbeing and fashion come together. ZEN proposes a different way of moving forward: more conscious, more connected and more present.
Walking as a conscious act
Inspired by the harmony between sensitivity and awareness, the collection draws references from ancient Eastern wisdom. Balance, presence and contemplation are translated here into an everyday gesture: walking with intention.
Each pair of ZEN is designed to offer comfort and calm. The collection aims to soften the fast pace of daily life and remind us that there is always a point of stability, even in the most hectic moments.
“From the very beginning, we understood that barefoot footwear not only transforms the way we walk, but also the way we feel,” explains Sofía Vega-Penichet, co-CEO and co-founder of KOOPS. “ZEN is born from the conviction that feeling the ground beneath our feet connects us with the present moment.”
Design that celebrates the natural
ZEN embraces the natural asymmetry of the body as part of its identity. Its lines are light and unstructured, moving away from the rigidity of traditional urban footwear. The design celebrates real imperfection and finds beauty in authenticity.
The colour palette is inspired by nature and comes in six shades with their own personality: Lava, Sand, Wood, Forest, Ocean and Ice. Each colour invites every step to be experienced as a moment of presence.
Materials, origin and sensitivity
All models in the collection are made in Portugal, in workshops with over 30 years of experience. KOOPS uses natural leathers, flexible materials and techniques that remove any element that might interfere with the feeling of a second skin.
“The collection celebrates the body as it is,” says Paloma Vega-Penichet, co-CEO and co-founder of the brand. “The goal is for the footwear to accompany movement without interfering with the experience.”

ZEN will be available for pre-order from 10 December through the KOOPS e-commerce platform.
