For months, the internet had been convinced that Timothée Chalamet was living a double life as EsDeeKid, the mysterious British rapper who never shows his face. The conspiracy theory hinged on one detail: the eyes. Beneath the balaclava, many swore they could see the same look, the same build and even identical mannerisms to the star of Marty Supreme. TikTok was flooded with side-by-side comparisons, analyses and supposed AI “unmaskings”. What started as a meme quickly grew into one of the year’s most persistent music rumours.

Everything was finally settled on 19 December 2025. And not with a statement, but with music. Chalamet appeared on the official remix of 4 Raws”, accompanied by a high-budget music video that instantly shut down the “they’re the same person” narrative. In the visuals, both share the screen, riding in the back of a Rolls-Royce and walking through the streets of London, as Chalamet pulls down his bandana to reveal his face beside an EsDeeKid who remains loyal to his anonymity.

Rather than dodging the topic, the actor chose to play along. In his verse, he taps back into his “Lil Timmy Tim” persona, dropping lines such as, “It’s Timothée Chalamet chillin’, tryna stack a hundred million”, alongside direct references to the rumours and nods to his personal life. The result is a moment of self-parody that turns the conspiracy into part of the show.

The collaboration not only puts the alter-ego theory to rest for good. It also works as a smart strategic move, keeping Chalamet in the spotlight as the release of Marty Supreme approaches, while further cementing EsDeeKid’s status as one of the most powerful figures in UK rap right now.

There’s no doubt anymore: they are not the same person. But the creative chemistry they show on “4 Raws (Remix)” makes it clear that this unexpected crossover could be just the beginning of a new chapter for both.
