Highxtar Christmas Guide | Where to eat in Barcelona this festive season

Barcelona feels different at Christmas. The city slows down, tables get longer, and food becomes the real focal point. From Michelin-starred restaurants to rooftop bars with views of the Mediterranean, travelling cuisines and celebrations around the fire, this guide takes you to the best places to eat and celebrate the festive season in Barcelona, based on experience, produce and the ritual of sharing.

Nomo

The Naoyuki Menu is the most complete way to understand the cuisine of chef Naoyuki Haginoya. A 14-course journey that travels seamlessly from Tokyo to the Mediterranean, offering one of the city’s best quality-to-price ratios at €50.

The menu moves through refined snacks, a precise raw bar, elegant nigiri and comforting hot dishes, all built with balance and progression. For the festive season, Nomo adds a sweet finale with the Ichigo Christmas Roll Cake, inspired by Japan’s iconic Christmas cake and available throughout the holidays across Nomo locations.

Leña

At Leña, New Year’s Eve is celebrated around fire. In BarcelonaMadrid, and Marbella, the restaurant led by Dani García presents a shared festive menu that elevates grill cooking and premium product to their highest expression.

The experience begins with a sequence of signature starters—Cinco Jotas ham, foie to spread, red prawn carpaccio with caviar, grilled scallops, beef tartare with black truffle, and the iconic parmesan risotto—before culminating in a show-stopping A5 Wagyu, served with smoked cauliflower and mushrooms. Dessert comes in the form of the house classic Tarta di Rose, rich in vanilla and celebration.

Menus range from €300 to €1,100, depending on location, with a children’s menu also available.

Maymanta

With some of the most spectacular views in BarcelonaMaymanta invites guests to celebrate Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve atop the Grand Hyatt Barcelona. Led by chef Omar Malpartida, the restaurant blends Peruvian flavours with Mediterranean technique in a vibrant, festive format.

The holiday menus feature acevichado seafood platters, red prawn ceviche, lobster suquet, oven-roasted meats and grilled fish, finished with desserts that highlight cocoa, lúcuma, and pisco. A sensorial experience that pairs flavour, colour, and skyline views.

Can Bo

Located inside the Grand Hotel CentralCan Bo offers a warm and traditional take on Christmas in the heart of Barcelona.

The festive menus revisit seasonal classics prepared exclusively at this time of year—beef cheek croquettesChristmas soup with galetsroast cannelloni, and Catalan-style stuffed chicken—alongside a special St. Stephen’s Day menu. For New Year’s Eve, the restaurant hosts a lively celebration complete with live music, DJ set, city views, and the traditional grapes at midnight.

Enoteca en Hotel Arts

Few plans feel as exclusive as welcoming the New Year from one of the renovated suites at Hotel Arts Barcelona, with the Mediterranean and the city skyline as a backdrop.

The hotel’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant Enoteca Paco Pérez presents a New Year’s Eve tasting menu (€595, wine pairing included), while the reopened Gaudí Hall hosts a festive New Year’s Gala curated by Reverie (€475), blending gastronomy, music, and art into a single immersive experience. For a slower start to the year, the New Year’s Day brunch remains a local favourite.
