Awards season is officially under way, and the 2026 Golden Globe Awards once again opened the calendar. As usual, the red carpet drew all eyes just minutes before the ceremony began. Hosted once again by Nikki Glaser, the arrival of the stars confirmed the event’s status as one of Hollywood’s key style showcases.
This year’s edition was historic even before the first award was handed out. For the first time, the category of Best Podcast was introduced, expanding the scope of the awards across both film and television. On the film side, One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, emerged as the clear frontrunner with nine nominations. Sentimental Value, by Joachim Trier, followed with eight, while The Sinners secured seven. In television, White Lotus and Adolescence stood out with six and five nominations, respectively.
Beyond the awards themselves, the red carpet took centre stage once again. Well-defined evening gowns, statement jewellery and carefully considered styling set the tone for a night that celebrated film, television and fashion in equal measure. Once more, Hollywood showed its most polished side and confirmed why the Golden Globes remain the starting point of awards season.
