EVISU celebrates the Year of the Horse

EVISU presents a special Lunar New Year collection where denim becomes the canvas for embroidery inspired by the Chinese zodiac, symbols of prosperity, and artisanal techniques.

EVISU celebrates the Year of the Horse

EVISU enters 2026 with an eye on the lunar calendar and, more specifically, the Year of the Horse, but it does so from a place that is uniquely its own: blending Asian tradition, extreme craftsmanship, and Japanese street DNA. The result is a Lunar New Year capsule collection that does not merely decorate garments, but builds a complete imaginary world around movement, luck, and new beginnings.

The collection draws from deeply rooted Asian symbols and translates them through EVISU’s design codes. The hariko horse, a traditional Japanese papier-mâché New Year ornament, becomes a central motif, joined by horseshoes as symbols of prosperity and status. Embroidery inspired by ema—the wooden plaques where wishes and prayers are written—adds another layer, reinforcing the idea of clothing as something intentional, almost ritualistic.

Denim remains the undisputed protagonist. Jackets and jeans feature intricate embroidery, velvet patches, and appliqué techniques that add real depth and texture. In some pieces, EVISU goes even further, applying realistic horse mane and tail hair fixed by hand onto silk and wool bases. The result is a striking three-dimensional effect that borders on the sculptural. This isn’t surface-level design—it’s a statement of craft.

The capsule also introduces limited-edition gold selvedge denim, underlining the premium nature of the collection. Nothing here feels random or ornamental: every symbol reinforces the narrative of renewal, strength, and forward momentum that defines the Fire Horse in the Chinese zodiac.
