A house exterior recognised around the world.

The house used for the exterior shots in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air could soon change hands. According to TMZ, the property will be listed with an asking price close to $30 million. For years, the house has been linked to the Bel-Air neighbourhood because of its connection to the series starring Will Smith. However, the property is not actually located there. Instead, it sits in Brentwood, one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive residential areas.

The property was built in 1937 and has six bedrooms. In addition, it offers around 10,000 square feet of living space. Thanks to its appearance in the series, which originally aired in the 1990s, the house’s exterior became instantly recognisable worldwide. Despite the passage of time, interest in the property remains strong. According to the report, a Netflix production is currently using the house as a filming location. This confirms its continued value within the screen industry.

The sale will be handled by The Altman Brothers, agents who specialise in luxury real estate. According to them, the house ranks among the most recognisable television exteriors in history. They also note that it remains one of the most sought-after addresses in the neighbourhood.

Nearly 30 years after the show came to an end, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air remains a cultural reference point. Not only did it shape several generations, but it also played a key role in launching Will Smith’s career.

Will Smith returns to Bel-Air.
