Bottega Veneta is preparing for a key transition at the top of its leadership. Bartolomeo “Leo” Rongone will step down as CEO on 31 March 2026, after six years at the helm of the Italian house owned by Kering. From 1 April 2026, he will take on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Moncler.
During his time at Bottega Veneta, Rongone played a central role in consolidating the brand’s position within contemporary luxury. His tenure coincided with a period of deep creative transformation and commercial growth. This phase established an identity in which craftsmanship and understated luxury became central pillars.
Rongone’s appointment at Moncler responds to a strategy of organisational strengthening. Remo Ruffini, chairman and CEO of the group until now, will remain focused on creative vision and global strategy. Rongone, meanwhile, will take charge of the company’s operational management.
According to Ruffini, the decision is guided by a long-term vision. The aim is to further professionalise the company and prepare the ground for a future generational succession.
A new phase of development for Moncler
This move also reflects Moncler’s ambition to enter a new phase of growth. The brand, historically associated with luxury outerwear, is looking to expand its reach without losing its identity. To achieve this, it reinforces it through high-profile initiatives, such as the collaborations within the Genius universe.
The challenge of continuity at Bottega Veneta
Meanwhile, Bottega Veneta begins the search for a new CEO in a complex context for the luxury industry, marked by a global slowdown. From Kering, however, strategic continuity is expected to be maintained. The house will continue to rely on its artisanal prestige and a sober image that remains relevant in today’s market.
