The theme blurs the lines between reality and imagination, between traditional folk songs and new wave, between desire and fantasy.

‘Sobre tu ventana’ is the first single from Rebe‘s third album, due out this spring, and is also proof that the artist is one of the most unique voices in Spanish alternative pop. She is joined by AMORE, another essential name on the current alternative scene, to create a deeply dreamlike sensation through a delicate and subtle rhythm that seems to hang in the air.

The song features some musical references to great folk singers such as Rocío Jurado, Rocío Dúrcal and Lola Flores. But far from nostalgia, this legacy is reinterpreted from a contemporary point of view, taking it into new territories such as new wave, where abstraction predominates.

This is the first collaboration between the artists, a natural encounter between two sensibilities that share aesthetic obsessions and a very personal approach to pop and Spanish folklore. “Sobre tu ventana” was born last summer, in a creative lockdown where all the elements aligned to shape a piece that moves between intimacy and emotional grandiloquence.

‘It meticulously portrays the fantastical recreation of a platonic romance narrated through neighbourhood vignettes in which it is idealised more by virtue of the romantic fantasy itself than by the attractiveness of the object of desire,’ says Rebe herself.
