A Better Mistake presents with “ALTER-EGOS” a preview of its FW23 collection with a live performance that investigates how the presence of multiple identities in the self is a powerful means to express creativity.
Silicone masks conceal the identity of the performers, who will later tear them off in the last act, revealing their true selves. The garments are oversized to give maximum freedom of movement. Fabrics are sourced from recycled material, in line with the brand’s responsible direction. The cottons are organic, the leather is recycled, the wool in the coats is recycled, while the collection is produced almost exclusively in Italy, minimizing transportation.
A Better Mistake encourages the visionary power that collectives can achieve and strongly believes in co-creation and innovation. Thus, for this collection, the brand decided to design two unique dresses together with Berlin-based brand DAVID WILLIAM.
In the show that took place in Milan, it was the sound design of Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist Metaraph that accompanied the dancers, choreographed by Macia Del Prete. Throughout the performance, colors, silhouettes and fabrics change dynamically thanks to the installed mirrors, embodying the concept of the collection. Just as light passing through a prism generates colors, the reflections of the dancers generated by the mirrors symbolize the different identities of A Better Mistake.
No friend of the brand was absent from the event. A Better Mistake received the welcome visit of the great Italian rapper Fedez, stylist Ramona Tabita and photographer Eva Losada, among others.
