If A$AP Rocky (@asaprocky) is known for anything, it’s for his eye for aesthetics — as well as for his music, of course. A few days ago he surprised us all by wearing a pair of adidas Originals Samba, a basic sneaker.
In the photo above published on the Instagram account of A$AP Nast (@asapnast), Rocky combines a pair of white Sambas with a pair of plaid pants, a graphic white T-shirt and the 40th anniversary jacket of Stüssy and CDG.
Although Rocky usually wears luxury branded clothes, he has never had a problem combining them with low-cost clothes like Dickies pants or Vans shoes.
The adidas Originals Samba is, after all, one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes, which transcends football, the sport for which it was created, and has become a staple on the streets. It is also reminiscent of the German Army Trainer (GAT), a style adopted by several brands over the last few years, notably Maison Margiela.
