Under the title ‘American Sabotage’ the creative debuted on the Parisian calendar through a constant reflection and challenge to the status quo.
Intertwining art and activism, A$AP Rocky brought his unique imagery and distinctive style, the same style that has made him one of the biggest names of recent times, to the French capital with the aim of conquering Fashion Week. With a more than exclusive call that provoked a historic front row that included Jonathan Anderson, Marine Serre, Michèle Lamy, A$AP Nast, Pusha T and, of course, Rihanna herself.
Thus, the Hôtel de Maisons became the most desired location on Friday, where everyone wanted to be. The rapper’s fans crowded the door with the last hope of being able to see something from there. But the magic would happen inside the mansion that once belonged to the great Karl Lagerfeld, located at 51 rue de l’Université and built in 1706 by Pierre Cailleteau.
A total of 30 looks created by Rocky in collaboration with Joshua Jamal, Bede Marchand and Coucou Bebe, exploring the boldness of the issues that threaten today’s society under the expressionism of the ghetto. As AWGE‘s creative director says: “American Sabotage is more than a brand. It’s a movement. We are breaking boundaries and making statements through each piece, reflecting the spirit and resilience of our communities. This is fashion with purpose, where art meets activism”.
Among the partners who joined this special first meeting of the brand with its public were PUMA, the sports giant for which A$AP Rocky is an ambassador and responsible for offering an impeccable selection of footwear; Ray-Ban; Shopify; Alpine Cars; Roc Nation; Hennessy and Armand de Brignac.
