Acne Studios(@acnestudios) explores the sense of diaphanousness in its new store in the heart of the Miami Design District. The two-floor, 200 m2 store was conceived by Halleroed, a Swedish design studio with which it has been collaborating for some time.
The store is totally minimalist, with nuclear white lighting and colorful accents on mannequins and design elements. As for the lighting, the design was specially made to continue the aesthetics of the flagship store on rue Saint Honoré in Paris. Benoît Lalloz was in charge of bringing it to life. Nods to Miami’s Art Deco style on sofas and mannequins came from artist Daniel Silver. Finally, furniture designer Max Lamb provided the colorful accents on the store’s seating.
Like the tension of dualities in the work of Jonny Johansson, head of Acne Studios, the Miami Design District’s first store is infused with the romantic eccentricity of the latest SS23 collection. The Blobs’ organic, irregular shapes reference the unexpected quality of Acne Studios’ silhouettes from the SS23 collection. Here, Lamb remades them in block tones of hand-dyed batik fabrics.
To celebrate the opening of its first Miami Design District store, the brand has taken over Wynwood with a wedding chapel “a la Acne Studios.” The SS23-themed installation at 2300 N Miami Ave will be available for viewing through March 29.
As for the store, you can go visit it now if you’re in Miami!
