Two decades after its launch, the design is making a strong comeback just ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

In 2006, adidas and Yohji Yamamoto broke the established conventions of footwear design by blending the world of football with the fashion sensibilities of the time through the Y-3 F50 FUNIT. Now, the iconic Beast Pack, originally launched in the run-up to the World Cup in Germany, returns reimagined for a new generation, evolving within the same aesthetic and functional narrative.

The revival took place in Paris, during the Y-3 FW26 show, where the model burst onto the catwalk and unveiled two versions: a lifestyle version and a pitch-oriented version. The former recaptures the Japanese mythological essence that defined the original pack: the blue dragon, the yellow tiger, the red eagle and the silver wolf are brought back to life. Meanwhile, the performance version focuses on the wolf as the dominant figure.

The new F50 ELITE FG TUNIT Y-3 retains direct nods to the 2006 design, such as the lace cover, whilst incorporating the latest technical innovations from adidas. The HYBRIDTOUCH upper, combined with the SPRINTFRAME 360 structure in the sole and the heel counter, ensures a high level of responsiveness.
