adidas Football has unveiled a new collection of soccer jerseys for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which kicks off on July 20 in Australia and New Zealand.

The brand is collaborating with the national teams of Argentina, Colombia, Germany, Japan, Spain and Sweden, and has taken inspiration for its new designs from the scenery and natural landscapes of each country.

Germany’s kit in vivid green tones refers to the country’s forests; Sweden’s pays homage to its mighty glacial rivers and polar ice caps, and Colombia’s jerseys show the changing hues of the Caño Cristales river. The pink hue of the sunrise that can be seen from Mount Fuji is reflected in Japan’s kit. For Spain’s, inspiration has been drawn from the coral reefs that surround the Spanish coastline, a feature also found in the two host countries of the tournament.

Each jersey includes lightweight, heat-transferred details, with the presence of AEROREADY technology that wicks sweat away from the players’ bodies. adidas has also applied HEAT.RDY technology to some of the pieces, which offers an enhanced cooling sensation. The original and replica kits are made from a yarn containing 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, a recycled material from waste collected from beaches and coastal communities, and 50% recycled polyester.

“The jerseys are performance-oriented and come equipped with technologies that enable players to meet the demands of the modern game,” said Sam Handy, Vice President of Product and Design at adidas Football. “For this year’s federation kits, we believe we have achieved just that: best-in-class performance sportswear with a design that is bold, exciting and celebrates the diverse natural landscape unique to each country – a combination worthy of this year’s Women’s World Cup.”

The kits are available now on the official adidas website.
