adidas will continue to sell surplus YEEZYs for at least cost price

The three stripes giant has just published its financial report for the year 2023 reflecting its revenues and profits.

adidas celebrates a positive year end thanks to its decision not to write off most of its remaining YEEZY inventory after severing its relationship with Kanye West. This has resulted in the brand’s neutral revenues exceeding €268 million (€368 million more than the company’s own forecast).

“The improvement is due to the improvement of the operating business of about 100 million euros and also to the decision not to write off the 268 million euros of YEEZY inventory,” says Bjørn Gulden, CEO of the sports company.

Although in August adidas assured that the sale of this product line would cease, the management has changed its mind after evaluating the results: the remaining inventory will be sold for at least cost price. Only damaged models have been written off.
