AIREI sets ASICS Gel-Quantum Kinetic on fire

For the Felix Art Fair, Los Angeles-based fashion label AIREI intervenes the ASICS Gel-Quantum Kinetic silhouette. Originally conceptualised during its SS24 WINDHORSE runway show, AIREI has wrapped the ASICS Gel-Quantum Kinetic silhouette in khadi chiffon, a fabric made without electricity in eastern India.

The reason? To set them on fire to create a unique finish. “The flames symbolise immersion in a noble cause, scarred fabrics and challenges overcome”. Each shoebox is also wrapped in the same gauze, allowing the sneakerhead wearing the silhouette to be part of the process.

The ASICS GEL-QUANTUM KINETIC by AIREI will be launched on February 29th through Dover Street Market Los Ángeles as part of the Felix Art Fair.

The colourful essence of KENZO merges with the know-how of ASICS.
