Alizzz has presented his most ambitious merchandising line to date, a project that delves into the conceptual universe of his latest album, Reckless Driving. Designed in collaboration with López Estudi, the garments and objects are inspired by the aesthetics of motoring to connect with the storytelling of his latest album, as well as the artist’s origins, creating an experience that transcends the music itself.
The collection will see the light of day for the first time in a pop-up shop that will open its doors to fans and the general public for one day only, next Tuesday 17 December from 7pm to 11pm. The event will take place in the centre of Barcelona, at C/ Joaquín Costa, 12 (The Supermercat bar) and will feature a session by Radiocontrol Dj and a secret Dj set that will be unveiled very soon through the artist’s social networks.
A collection that honours the artist’s origins
The new merchandising line is a comprehensive artistic project with a clear message: the importance of roots, identity and connection with the environment. One of the most outstanding elements of this new line is the introduction of the term Baixllo, an abbreviation of the place name of the region of Alizzz, the Catalan Baix Llobregat, where his home town, Castelldefels, is located. With this concept, the artist seeks to vindicate his roots and foster a sense of community, something he considers has been little worked on until now.
T-shirts, mugs, caps, key rings, lighters, two tote bags, a key ring, a flask, a scarf and a bottle opener are the elements that make up this new batch of merchandise. Each garment and accessory in this collection has been carefully designed to reflect the artist’s personal universe: everything that defines him and inspired him in the creation of Reckless Driving.
‘I am committed to reclaiming my origins and I want to help all of us who are from here to feel a real pride of belonging, something that has rarely been encouraged in our area,’ says Alizzz. ‘I also hope that fans and those who discover the project will perceive the energy and values we represent, and that they will even be able to adopt and identify with them.
The line forms part of the extended universe of Conducción Temeraria(2024), their second full-length after their debut, Tiene que haber algo más (2021) and the EP Boycott (2023). Ten songs of modern love with saturated vocals, strummed guitars and a cosmos that orbits around the immensity of the road and the romanticization of the journey, sometimes with the window down, sometimes stepping on the accelerator. The album also features collaborations with artists such as Maria Arnal, Renaldo & Clara, Cuco and Conociendo Rusia. The first dates of their presentation tour will be 13 February in Madrid (La Riviera), 15 February in Barcelona (Razzmatazz) and 20 February in Valencia (Palau Alameda).
Apart from his facet as a singer and style reference, Alizzz is one of the most influential music producers in our country with several awards under his belt, such as three Latin Grammys and more than 40 platinum albums.
