All about Peggy Gou's awaited debut album 'I Hear You'

The ten-track album is the culmination of years of work by the Korean-born artist. Revered as an underground icon and global sensation, Peggy has remained steadfast in her vision to become one of the world’s most sought-after electronic music artists and DJs. With previous singles such as “(It Goes Like) Nanana” and her collaboration with Lenny Kravitz“I Believe in Love Again,” the LP boldly reclaims her voice through the kaleidoscopic lens of 90s house music.

To celebrate the album’s release, Peggy Gou released a new single, “1+1=11,” an anthem that means “togetherness” and is accompanied by the first music video from acclaimed Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, a longtime friend of the Korean artist. The video is directed by and stars Eliasson, whose world-renowned work has often been inspired by natural systems, bodily experience and also movement.

The video “1+1=11” is one of three collaborations on I Hear You between Gou and Eliasson. The striking album cover shows Peggy Gou wearing the artwork Psychoacoustic empathy amp (2023), an “ear ring” created by Eliasson. In the futuristic call to arms that opens the album, “Your Art” Gou recites her own edition of Eliasson’ s poem “Your planet seen from within” written to accompany her 2022 TIME magazine cover.

Via social media Peggy has revealed the tracks that make up the album, plus new details including a collaboration with Villano Antillano. “June 7th.
